Ludington, Scottville opt out of recreational pot sales.

#MasonCountyNews.

The Ludington City Council and the Scottville City Commission both took action tonight to ban recreational marijuana sales in the two towns.

The Ludington City Council unanimously approved an ordinance banning the sale of recreational marijuana within the city limits. The original ordinance was amended to include a stipulation that the council must vote on the topic again in the future — 60 days after the state finalizes regulations.

The Scottville City Commission unanimously passed a resolution stating the City of Scottville has opted out of allowing the sale of recreational marijuana in the city limits.

The Village of Custer and Custer Township have also both opted out of allowing recreational marijuana sales in their municipalities.
