Obituary: Marjorie Peterson, 88, Ludington.

Marjorie J. Peterson, 88, of Ludington passed away Friday, December 14, 2018. She was born December 19, 1929 to William and Marian (Burril) Denton on Mackinac Island.

Marjorie was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, known as Grandma Jean to many. She would do anything for her family. Equally important to her was her church life. She was very involved in the churches she belonged to, most recently the Radiant Church in Ludington.  Marjorie and her friend Nancy Schott were prayer warriors for many. Marjorie was well known in her family as a wonderful baker, especially her pumpkin pie, apple pie, and molasses cookies.

Marjorie will be greatly missed by her children, Linda(Gus) Varitimidis of Detroit, Lori (Brad) Cook of Ashville, N.C.,, Larry Peterson of Tennessee., Lanette (Vince) Fraumeni of Floriday, and LouAnn (John) Reed of Ludington; her son-in-law, Dean Root; her daughter-in-law, Elaine Peterson; her 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, and her brother David (Sarine) Denton.

Besides her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her son, Lee Peterson, her daughter, Louise Root, and her brother, Donald Denton.

A celebration for Marjorie will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Radiant Church in Ludington. Birthday cake will be served!

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Radiant Church.
