CPL class offered this weekend.
AMBER TOWNSHIP — A few spots remain for a concealed pistol license class offered by Lakeshore Firearm and Tactical Training on Saturday, Dec. 15 beginning at 8 a.m. Following the successful completion of the all day class, the student will be eligible to apply for a Michigan CPL. Cost is $100.
The class is taught by Nate DeWeerd, who is a sergeant in the Michigan National Guard and served nearly 20 years in law enforcement and the U.S. Marine Corps, including serving as an elite guard of two presidents. DeWeerd is also a police officer for the Village of Pentwater and serves on the board of directors of the non-profit Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners, currently serving as the organization’s first vice chairman and chairman of the education and training committee.
