Police investigating Friday heroin death.

LUDINGTON — Ludington Police Department is investigating the death of a 35-year-old female that occurred Friday, Nov. 30, in the 600 block of North James Street. Police Chief Mark Barnett said Ludington Police Department, Ludington Fire Department, and Life EMS were dispatched to the residence about 4:30 p.m. He said investigating officers learned that the female victim had used heroin earlier in the day and that one of the subjects in the house had already administered two shots of naloxone in an attempt to revive the victim.

Further rescue efforts were made by first responders, Barnett said. “The victim was unable to be revived.

Further investigation by the Ludington Police Department and the State, Sheriffs, Chiefs Enforcement Narcotics Team (SSCENT) is on-going as to the events surrounding the incident and the source of the heroin.”

Barnett said anyone having information connected with the incident is asked to call Detc. J.B. Wells of the Ludington Police Department at 231-843-3425.
