Obituary: Arnold Kalis, 94, Ludington.

Arnold A. Kalis, 94, of Ludington formerly of Westland passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018. He was born September 3, 1924 in Detroit to John and Johanna (Gauger) Kalis.

Arnold enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country during World War II. He worked as a truck driver and in his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing with his boys “up north”.

He is survived by his children, Mary Ann (Skip) Wehrle of Florida, Dolores Kalis of Port Huron, Harry Kalis of Sable Twp., Barbara Kalis of Knoxville, Tenn., and John Kalis; his eight grandchildren, Toby, Russ, Becky, Derek, Darrell, David, Benjamin, and April; and his 16 great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Arnold was preceded in death by his wife Rita Ann, and his daughter Lucille (Greg) Fox.

A funeral mass will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 1 p.m. at St. Richards Catholic Church, 35851 Cherry Hill Rd., Westland MI 48186. Family will greet Friends beginning at 12:00 pm also at the church.

Arnold will be laid to rest next to his wife at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights.
