James Albert Vandenheuvel, 81, of Ludington, formerly of Hart, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.
Jim was born on March 20, 1937 in Hart, the son of Albert and Josephine (Kokx) Vandenheuvel. He graduated from Hart High School in 1955 and went to work on the family farm. Jim later became a master welder and pipefitter, working in nuclear plants. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and traveling the world with his best gal, Arleen. Jim loved the Bible and sharing his knowledge with those around him.
Jim is survived by his faithful and loving companion, Arleen Christiansen; children, Melody (Craig) Baughman, Kurt (Sharon) Vandenheuvel, and Kelly Perez; grandchildren, Jamie and Dan Piotrowicz, Karen Kinyon, Josh and Jared (Jennifer) Vandenheuvel, Alissa (Eliseo) Gonzalez, and Lindsay (Matt) Crawford; nine great-grandchildren; and siblings, Tom (Brigitte) Vandenheuvel and Mary Jo (Andy) Todd.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Church of Christ, 3816 W. Fountain Rd. in Ludington. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the church.
