2 injured in 3-vehicle Amber Twp. crash.

AMBER TOWNSHIP — Two people were injured during a three vehicle crash at the intersection of US 10-31 and Stiles Road Thursday afternoon, Nov. 1. According to Mason County Sheriff Sgt. John Balowski, the crash occurred about 3:15 p.m. when a Kia Sorento, driven by a 76-year-old Free Soil woman, was eastbound on US 10-31 and attempted to make a left-hand turn onto North Stiles Road into the path of a westbound Nissan Altima, driven by a 69-year-old Big Rapids man. After the two vehicles collided, the Altima struck a Chevrolet Equinox, driven by a 32-year-old Ludington woman, which was on Stiles Road waiting to turn west onto US 10-31.

The driver of the Sorento and the driver of the Equinox were transported to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital by ambulance and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Each of the vehicles also each had one passenger and non were injured. The passenger of the Equinox was an infant in a carseat. Non were injured.

Balowski said the driver of the Sorento would be receiving a citation for failing to yield the right-of-way.

Responding to the scene were Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Scottville Fire Department, Ludington Fire Department, and Life EMS.
