Woman injured after car strikes utility pole.

LUDINGTON — A 42-year-old Ludington area woman was injured after the vehicle she was driving struck a utility pole on Melendy Street east of Staffon Street Monday afternoon, Oct. 8, 2018. The crash occurred about 2:50 p.m. Ludington Police Sgt. Steve Wietrzykowski said the woman the Dodge Durango was eastbound in the 800 block of East Melendy Street when it struck the Consumers Energy pole and then rolled over.
The driver was extricated by Ludington Fire Department personnel using hydraulic rescue tools. She was then transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, Wietrzykowski said.
Wietrzykowski said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash, which is under investigation.
