PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Mason County Sheriff’s Office detectives and deputies, with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, executed a search warrant at Piper Tax Services, 1975 S. Pere Marquette Highway Tuesday morning, as part of an ongoing criminal investigation, according to Sheriff Kim Cole.

Sheriff’s office officials and FBI agents arrived at the business shortly after 9 a.m. and conducted the search throughout the day, closing both the tax business and the adjacent RIverflats Coffee & Tea.

“The case originated after the sheriff’s office was contacted by the FBI, which was contacted in June by a Mason County business over alleged missing funds,” Cole said. “During the course of the investigation numerous search warrants were also served on financial institutions in Mason County.”

Cole added that no arrests have been made.
