LUDINGTON — Tickets are now on sale for Dancing with the Local Stars, a major fundraiser for the Ludington Area School District’s Oriole Foundation. The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Lincoln Hills Golf Club in Hamlin Township.

“We are so thankful to these very generous and brave community members who are stepping out on the dance floor in an effort to bring awareness and funding to the Oriole Foundation, which does so much to support innovative programs and unique educational needs for students in our district“ said Jennifer Miller, president of the Oriole Foundation.

The local stars and their dance partners taking the stage include:

• Erika Etchison and Brian Dotson

• Monica Schuyler and David Maclean

• Chris and Rick Plummer

• Kaitlyn Sanocki and Nate Jolly

• Deb Wu and Kyle Gurzynski

• Mary and Jac Russell

• Misty and Tad Reed

• Lori Schummer and Andy Higley

Choreography is being provided by Alissa Bly, Letha Fulton, Lauren Sawson, Brandy Solberg and Calista Swanson. Another local star, Kaitlin Urka, will emcee the event. Judges for the evening will be Mark Boon, Jeanne Oakes, and Carleen Shinn. The Ludington High School Jazz ensemble provide entertainment at the beginning of the evening.

Dancers and their partners will be competing against each other for one of three trophies: Judges’ Choice, Most Entertaining and People’s Choice.

The Oriole Foundation held its first Dancing with the Local Stars event in October of 2016, where the Pennies From Heaven Foundation matched all monies raised at that event for a grand total of nearly $280,000 raised for the Foundation.

Tickets to attend the event are now on sale for $75 and include heavy hors d’oeuvres, dancing and entertainment (cash bar available). Tickets are available now and can be purchased at the Ludington Area School Central Business Office located at 809 E. Tinkham Avenue by cash or check only during their business hours.
