LUDINGTON — A Ludington man pleaded guilty to three counts of criminal sexual conduct today in 51st Circuit Court and faces up to 30 years in prison for sexually violating an 8-year-old female child.

Ray Thomas Kelly, 66, 203 Washington Ave., apt. 5, was arrested by Ludington Police Department and charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct first degree and two counts of CSC second degree. He was arraigned on the charges on July 19 in 79th District Court following his arrest by Ludington Police Department.

He was originally charged with one count of criminal sexual conduct first degree, and three counts of CSC second degree. In exchange for his plea agreement, the first count of CSC first degree, and the fourth count were dropped while the second and third counts of CSC second degree and an additional fifth county of CSC first degree were added.

The plea calls for 135 to 360 months in prison.

Kelly testified that the violations occurred between April 22 and July 5 of this year at his residences in the 5400 block of West Johnson Road in Pere Marquette Township and the 200 block of South Washington Avenue.

CSC first degree is punishable by a term of 25 years to life imprisonment while CSC second degree is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment.

Kelly is scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 1 p.m.
