Family of moped crash victim asking for financial help.

SCOTTVILLE — The family of a Scottville man who was critically injured in a moped crash last week is asking for help to cover medical expenses and end of life costs. Shelby Taylor, daughter of Curtis Spuller, 55, created a Facebook donation page. On the page, she stated that, as a result of the crash, her father has a severe brain injury and a broken neck.

According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Curtis Spuller was traveling eastbound on Conrad Road west of Meyers Road Saturday, July 7, when he lost control of the bike and crashed it about 1:50 p.m.

Spuller was transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital then by helicopter to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

“We’ve been informed that he will not be waking up and it is in our best interest to remove him from life support and keep him comfortable,” Taylor wrote.

“He had no will or life insurance so were trying to offset the cost as much we can to help the family. Please donate if you can but every share helps.”
