SCOTTVILLE — Cole’s Antiques Villa will hold its annual Appraisal Day on Tuesday, June 5, as part of the Scottville Celebrating Success event. Appraisals will take place from noon to 7 p.m. and will feature five antiques experts. Cost is $5 for appraisal of one to two items.

A new appraiser this year will be Cecil Bradshaw of Grand Haven who makes cribbage boards, said Sally Cole. “Cecil has made several of the cribbage boards we feature here in our store and is considered one of the top experts on that particular item.”

Also featured will be certified appraiser Tim Fitzsimmons, who has over 35 years experience.

“We normally get a lot of requests for jewelry appraisal,” Cole said. “Tim is well versed in this area. But, we encourage people to bring in anything they would like to have it looked at and to find out its story. If the item is too big, they can bring in pictures.”

Cole said fair market value is appraised for the items.

“The value is what the item would sell here in our market. This may be a different value in a different region.”

Cole’s Antiques Villa is located at 120 N. Main St., at the corner of Main and Broadway, in downtown Scottville. Store hours Tuesday are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
