51st Circuit Court sentencings, posted May 6, 2018.

LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in 51st Circuit Court:

Bentz

– Jacob David Bentz, 24, of 422 N. Lakeshore Dr., Ludington, was found guilty March 20 of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and was sentenced May 1 to serve 30 days up front of an 11-month discretionary jail term with credit for one day served; 18 months probation; up to one year on Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitoring (SCRAM); and $658 in fines and costs. Work release must meet MCSO guidelines. Another count of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and third-offense habitual offender were dismissed.

Mason Saya

– Mason Paul Saya, 19, of 3816 N. Tuttle Rd., Sherman Township, was found guilty March 20 of maintaining a drug house and was sentenced May 1 to serve 180 days up front of a one-year discretionary jail term with credit for 105 days served; 18 months probation; driver’s license suspended 180 days/restricted after 30 days; and $858 in fines and costs. One count of marijuana possession was dismissed.

Eastling

– Lorenzo Maurice Eastling, 39, of 6014 E. Decker Rd., Sheridan Township, was found guilty March 20 of second-offense delivery/manufacture of marijuana and was sentenced May 1 to serve 90 days up front of a one-year discretionary jail term; two years probation; driver’s license suspended one year/restricted after 60 days; must forfeit firearm; and $658 in fines and costs. Work release must meet Mason County Sheriff’s Office guidelines. Charges of second-offense possession of cocaine, heroin or another narcotic less than 25 grams, firearms possession, felony firearms and third-offense habitual offender were dismissed.

Bogner

– Thomas Anthony Bogner, 27, of 8513 E. Hawley Rd., Logan Township, pleaded “no contest” March 13 to assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and attempted breaking and entering/illegal entry and was sentenced April 10 to serve concurrent terms of 270 days and 90 days in jail of a nine-month discretionary jail term with credit for one day served; 18 months probation; 90-180 days SCRAM monitoring; and $908 in fines and costs. Charges of first-degree home invasion and assaulting/resisting/obstructing police were dismissed.
