Texas woman owes over $40,000 in child support.

LUDINGTON — A 36-year-old Texas woman who owes over $40,000 in child support may get a delayed sentence if 51st Circuit Court Judge Susan K. Sniegowski allows it.
Amber Dawn Peterson of Odessa, Texas, pleaded guilty Tuesday, April 24, to failure to pay child support. If she pays $30,000 of her arrearages within six months, her case could be dismissed pursuant to the terms of her delayed sentence.
Peterson owes $42,759.39 in arrearages and $1,268.20 for extradition expenses.
Her attorney David Glancy said Peterson has a check for $9,000 ready to go toward what she owes.
The maximum term for failure to pay child support is four years in prison.
Sentencing is set for June 5 at 1:15 p.m. when Judge Sniegowski will determine whether she will grant a delayed sentence.
