Ludington Avenue construction start postponed until April 23.

LUDINGTON — The start of construction work along Ludington Avenue (US 10) from Jackson Road (Ludington city limits) and Rowe Street has been delayed until Monday, April 23, due to weather conditions.

The project will include sidewalk ramp upgrades, drainage repairs and resurfacing of the street. During the first few weeks of the projects the outside lane will be closed in each direction as crews work to complete the sidewalk ramp upgrades, and drainage repairs.  Right lanes of both eastbound and westbound Ludington Avenue will be closed for the duration of the work. The inside lanes will remain open. Sidewalk detours will also be in place to allow for travel around the sections of sidewalk currently under construction.

The project was initially expected to be completed by Memorial Day weekend. But, it is likely to take additional time now, Leo Evans of the Michigan Department of Transportation said.
