Sheriff’s office hires Matt Murphy as road deputy.
LUDINGTON — Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole has announced the addition of a new road deputy to the sheriff’s office. Matt Murphy was hired on Feb. 2 and recently completed his field training. Murphy is a 2003 graduate of Ludington High School, a 2009 graduate of Lake Superior State University, and a 2015 graduate of West Shore Community College’s Law Enforcement Academy.
Prior to being hired full time as a road deputy, Murphy worked as a corrections officer for the sheriff’s office and was a part-time officer for Scottville Police Department.
