Catch the buzz at bee school.

SCOTTVILLE — Maybe you’re already a beekeeper but you’d like a refresher course to move comfortably into spring. Perhaps you’re a newbee or even a wannabee considering getting started for the first time. You may have friends or neighbors interested in beekeeping, for the sake of these vital pollinators and healthy honey-makers, the Scottville Beekeepers help each other catch the buzz!

  • Sessions will include all detailed information needed to get started as a beekeeper in Michigan including bee biology, nutrition, habitat, equipment assembly and bee handling methodology
  • Field trips throughout the season
  • Mason County Bee Supplies will demo equipment and provide a special discount to attendees
  • Pure honey from local beekeepers will be available for purchase
  • Scottville Beekeepers meet regularly on the third Thursday of each month for on-going support throughout the season
  • Our goal is to provide a foundation for success as you explore the fascinating world of beekeeping

Bee School will be held on Saturday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Scottville Area Senior Center, 140 S. Main St. It is free and open to all ages.
