West Shore Art Fair accepting applications.

LUDINGTON — The Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA) is seeking fine art and fine craft artists to apply for the 2018 West Shore Art Fair, taking place Saturday and Sunday July 7-8 in Rotary Park.

Celebrating its 50th year, the open-air, juried fine art and fine crafts show has space for up to 120 artists in the categories of clay, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metals, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking and wood among others.

Qualified artists, creators of original artwork, can apply to the West Shore Art Fair through the online application process at www.zapplication.org/event-info.php?ID=5992. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 11:59 p.m. The jury process will be completed by March 16 and notifications will be sent by March 30

Proceeds from the West Shore Art Fair assist with funding arts education, programming and operations of the Ludington Area Center for the Arts.

The West Shore Art Fair also features an “emerging artist” category available to help foster the next generation of exhibiting artists. Emerging artists must not have exhibited at a fine art fair prior to applying to this event; artists may be affiliated with a college art program or be self-taught. Those selected to take part in the “emerging artist” category are given a discounted booth fee and assistance with booth materials (use of a tent and tables).

Ten artist awards of $200 in each category and invitational status to next year’s show will be awarded during the show. Additional artist amenities including free parking, on-site continental breakfast, booth-sitting and art fair publicity. West Shore Art Fair also features numerous attractions to draw attendees such as live performances, food stations and a children’s craft area.
