Democrats to hold upcoming meetings. 

LUDINGTON — The Mason County Democratic Party will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. in the West Shore Bank Room of the Mason County District Library Ludington Branch. Democratic 35th state senate candidate Cary Urka of Manistee County will speak at the meeting. In 2016, Urka ran as a Republican for the 101st House of Representatives seat. He was defeated in the primary by Curt VanderWall, who went on to win the seat.

Also speaking will be Jordan Archer, Democratic candidate for the University of Michigan Board of Regents and Katie Miller, health education coordinator for District Health Department No. 10.

The Mason County Democratic Party will hold its county convention on Thursday, March 1 at 6 p.m., also at the Ludington library. At 6:30 p.m., Mason County Clerk Cheryl Kelly will be present to discuss precinct delegates and answer questions on new voting machines. The general membership meeting will begin at 7 p.m. with guest Kathy Wiejacka, Democratic candidate for the 101st House of Representatives seat.

The public is invited to all meetings.
