79th District Court sentencings and dismissals, posted Jan. 16, 2018.

LUDINGTON — The following sentencings and dismissals took place in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

  • George Franklin Campbell, 26, of 3767 Washington Road, Pentwater, was found guilty on Jan. 11, 2018 of the misdemeanor of driving a vehicle while license expired and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year; $225 in fines and costs; 12 months probation; must not operate a motor vehicle until legally able to do so.
  • Scott Joseph Ballard, 27, of 112 43rd St., Kentwood, was found guilty on Jan. 9, 2018 of the misdemeanor of operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year, serving two days in jail (with credit for two days served); must attend alcohol highway program with proof of attendance; must attend AA two times per week for three months; must not have/buy/use alcohol/illicit drugs; must not violate any criminal laws; must submit to random PBT tests at request of any police officers, court, or counselor;  $870 in fines/costs.
  • Mary Ruth Dean, 60, of 4113 S. Ottawa Trail, Shelby, was found guilty on Jan. 9, 2018 for the misdemeanor of operating a vehicle while impaired by a controlled substance and sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year, serving two days (with credit for two days served); must attend next session of the victims’ impact panel; must not have/buy/use alcohol/illicit drugs/ must not violate any criminal laws; $895 fines/costs.
  • Christi Lei Gillies, 46, 419 E. State St., Scottville, was found guilty on Jan. 9, 2018 for the misdemeanor of operating a vehicle while intoxicated or under a controlled substance and sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year, serving two days (with credit for two days served); must attend next session of victims’ impact panel; must not have/buy/use alcohol/illicit drugs; subject to random PBTs at request of any police officer, counselor or the court; must not violate any criminal laws; $1,225 fines/costs.
  • Jenna Dianne Myers, 24, of 1245 N. LaSalle Road, Amber Township, was found guilty on Jan. 9, 2018 for the misdemeanor of operating a vehicle while impaired by a controlled substance and sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year, serving five days in jail (with five days credit served); $1,025 fines/fees; must attend next session of victims’ impact panel; must not have/buy/use alcohol/illicit drugs; must meet with a doctor for a review of medications; subject to random PBTs at request of any police officer, counselor or the court; must not violate any criminal laws.
  • Michael Anthony Garcia, 47, of 508 E. Danaher St., Apt. 2, Ludington, was found guilty on Jan. 9, 2018 for the misdemeanor of disorderly person, jostling and sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year, serving one day in jail; must have a domestic violence evaluation and follow recommendations; non contact order lifted; subject to random PBTs at request of any police officer, counselor or the court; must not violate any criminal laws. A charge of domestic violence was dismissed with prejudice; $285 fines/fees.
  • Rey Antonio Govea, 37, of 346 National SW, Grand Rapids, was found guilty of the misdemeanor of driving while a license suspended/revoked/denied on Jan. 9, 2018 and sentenced to one year discretionary jail for one year, serving 18 days in jail; subject to random PBTs at request of any police officer, counselor or the court; must not violate any criminal laws. A charge of controlled substance possession of marijuana was dismissed with prejudice; $665 fines/fees.
  • Andrew David Archey, 26, of 6542 E. Decker Road, Sheridan Township, was found guilty of the misdemeanor of disorderly person, jostling, on Jan. 9, 2018 and sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year, serving two days in jail; must have an anger management evaluation and follow recommendations; must not have any contact with the victim in the matter; subject to random PBTs at request of any police officer, counselor or the court; must not violate any criminal laws; $615 fines/fees.
  • Christopher Michael Phillips, 52, of 13347 Crane Ridge Dr., Fenton, was found guilty on Jan. 9, 2018 of the misdemeanor of operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor and sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year, serving one day in jail; must attend AA two times per week for six months; subject to random PBTs at request of any police officer, counselor or the court; must not violate any criminal laws; $895 fines/fees.
