79th District Court sentencings and dismissals, posted Dec. 20, 2017.

LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

-Roy Daniel Purple, 62, of 463 E. US 10, Custer Township, pleaded guilty December 13 to attempted assault/resisting/obstructing police and was sentenced to 21 days in jail with credit for 21 days served; one year discretionary jail for one year; must have substance abuse evaluation; must attend AA two times per week; no drugs/alcohol; and subject to random PBTs. A charge of assault/resisting/obstructing police was dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

-Amanda Jean Dalzell, 46, of 406 Gay St., Scottville, pleaded guilty December 12 to domestic violence and attempted assault/resisting/obstructing police and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for 30 days served; one year discretionary jail for one year; no drugs/alcohol; and $875 in fines/costs. May perform 43 hours of community service in lieu of fines/costs.

-Kevin Ryan Shook, 30, of 1311 S. Madison, Ludington, pleaded guilty December 12 to third-degree retail fraud and was sentenced to 93 days in jail with credit for 93 days served and $480 in fines/costs.

-Blair Rochelle Collins, 27, of 3686 N. 128th Ave., Hart, pleaded guilty December 12 to larceny and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail for one year; no drugs/alcohol; must attend AA/NA once a week for one year; must continue mental health counseling; 12 months of probation; and $795 in fines/costs. A charge of larceny in a building was dismissed.

-Jenna Marie Shinsky, 17, of 3895 W. Hansen Rd., Amber Township, pleaded guilty December 14 to failure to display a valid driver’s license and was sentenced to pay $275 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS).

-Bradley Daniel Gilman, 28, of 302 E. Melendy St., Ludington, pleaded guilty December 18 to failure to display a valid driver’s license and was sentenced to 12 months of probation; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; and must pay $275 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS).

-Brandon James Gunia, 40, of 5386 McDowell St., Muskegon, pleaded guilty December 18 to taking a deer without a license and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year; 12 months of probation; and $2,275 in fines/costs.

Dismissals

-Jack Jay Kolenda, 24, of 3524 S. Division SE, Wyoming, had a charge of domestic violence dismissed without prejudice on December 13 after the prosecutor determined the case could not be proved beyond a reasonable doubt.

-Robert James Sorensen, 33, of 1750 Larsen Rd., Branch Township, had a charge of operating without insurance dismissed on December 11 after pleading guilty to a lesser charge.

-Dennis Allen Hackert, 51, of 1218 S. Madison #3, Ludington, had a charge of possession of synthetic marijuana dismissed on December 13 pursuant to a prosecutor’s deferment agreement.
