Winter storm warning updated.

The National Weather Service has updated its winter storm warning with the storm expected to begin late Monday afternoon.  According to the Federal Emergency Management Administration, the storm is expected to last until midnight, Wednesday, Dec. 13.

The warning states: Heavy lake effect will develop tonight. Travel will be very difficult including during the morning on Tuesday. Snow accumulations of 9 to 13 inches are expected with localized amounts of up to 17 inches expected.

The warning area includes Mason, Manistee, Benzie, Leelanau, Grand Traverse, Oceana, Muskegon, Ottawa, Allegan, and VanBuren counties.
