Verizon wireless down across northern Michigan.

Verizon Wireless service started to experience outages about 10 a.m. Monday and the outages appear to be happening from Pentwater north throughout northern Michigan. MCP readers are reporting the outages throughout Mason and Manistee counties and in northern Oceana County. Our Oceana editor is reporting service is working in Hart and Rothbury areas. We will post more information as it becomes available. Our news partners at 7&4 News, are reporting that service is working in Traverse City.

“Persons unable to call 911 on their Verizon device can use devices from other networks and land lines,” said Mason-Oceana 911 Director Ray Hasil. “Old land line phones that are no longer active but still connected can still be used to dial 911 too.”
