FREE SOIL TOWNSHIP — A two vehicle crash in the 9400 block of US 31 resulted in both drivers receiving minor injuries Friday morning. A UPS van, driven by a 37-year-old Ludington man was northbound on US 31 and preparing to turn right into a business when the van was rear-ended by a Ford Econoline van driven by a 48-year-old Manistee man. Both vehicles were in the right lane of the northbound passing zone.

According to Mason County Sheriff Dep. Tom Brown, on the scene, both drivers received minor injuries; the driver of the Ford van was expected to be cited for driving too fast Brown said. The UPS van appeared to be on its way to make deliveries. The packages were moved to another vehicle on scene.

Responding to the scene were Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Free Soil/Meade Fire Department, Grant Township Fire Department, and Life EMS.
