Scottville moving forward with charter revision process.

SCOTTVILLE — The Scottville City Commission is moving forward with updating the city’s charter, which was adapted in the 1950s. During its regular meeting Monday, the commission appointed a charter commission to review recent revisions proposed by a special committee that was created by Mayor Bruce Krieger.

In order to adopt a new charter, state law requires the city commission to appoint a committee of citizens to create a proposal for the revisions. The proposed revised charter must then be approved by the state and then by the electorate of the city. The committee consists of Bruce Smith, Bob Spangler, Carla Mayer, Rob Alway, and Dave Johnson.
