Masons to donate Swiss steak dinner proceeds to hurricane relief efforts.

LUDINGTON — Free Masons Pere Marquette Lodge 299 will hold its quarterly Swiss steak dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. Typically proceeds from the dinner go towards the club’s college scholarship fund.  But, this dinner will help the victims of the recent hurricanes in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico.

“We try to do a steak dinner each quarter,” said Mark Rogers, dinner organizer. “Typically we raise money through the year to give away three $1,000 college scholarships. After the hurricanes, the grand masters from the states hit by the storms put out a call asking lodges to assist with relief efforts. So, we decided to use the proceeds from this dinner to help them out.”

The lodge is located at 108 W. Ludington Ave., above the Evergreen store. Stairway entrances are located in the front and back and a handicap accessible elevator is located in the back. The meal includes Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, dinner rolls, and drinks.

“I wanted to give thanks to Brenda Cole from Brenda’s Harbor Cafe for helping to offset some of the food costs,” Rogers said.

Tickets are $10 per person and available at the door. MCP has a limited supply of tickets that may be pre-purchased by emailing editor@mediagroup31.com or messaging on Facebook.
