Ludington man arrested for criminal sexual conduct against minor.

LUDINGTON — Jesus Maria Chavez, 18, of 603 S. Washington Ave., was arrested Oct. 15 by troopers from the Michigan State Police Hart Post and charged with criminal sexual conduct third degree and harboring runaways. CSC third degree is a felony punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment. According to the state penal code, the crime involves a victim who is at least 13-years-old and under 16-years-old and is committed through force or coercion to accomplish sexual penetration.

A probable cause hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 1:15 p.m. Bail has been set at $50,000 cash/surety.
