Political parties holding fall picnics.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Both Mason County political parties are hosting their fall picnics this coming weekend at Suttons Landing on Iris Road.

The Mason County Democratic Party will host its picnic/corn roast on Friday, Sept. 8 beginning at 6 p.m. with set up at 4 p.m. Guest speakers will include Patrick Miles, candidate for Michigan attorney general; Matt Morgan, candidate for Michigan’s first congressional district, and Rob Davidson, candidate for Michigan’s second congressional district. Other local and state elected officials are likely to attend.

Attendees are asked to bring their own plate serving and a dish to pass. Hot dogs and corn will be provided. The event is free and open to the public.

The annual Mason County Republican Party picnic is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m., also at Suttons Landing. The picnic is free and open to the public. Local and state elected officials are likely to attend.
