79th District Court sentencings and dismissals

The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

-Brian Keith Ellison, 59, no address listed, pleaded guilty August 21 to disorderly drunk person and was sentenced to 21 days in jail with credit for four days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; no drugs/alcohol; must have substance abuse evaluation; 21 months of probation; and $285 in fines/costs. May perform community service in lieu of fines/costs.

-Brandon Scott Deweerdt, 32, of 1527 N. Oceana Dr., Hart, pleaded guilty August 17 to ammunition in case with a firearm and was sentenced to pay $275 in fines/costs.

-Katie Diann Neushwander, 35, of 6675 Sassafrass Rd., Hamlin Township, pleaded guilty August 17 to illegal disposal of solid waste and was sentenced to pay $185 in fines/costs.

Dismissals

-Mark Kevin Grams, 58, of 3299 N. Jebavy Dr., Hamlin Township, had a charge of domestic violence dismissed on August 17 due to the necessary and essential witness being unavailable.

-Lee Walter Peterson, 31, of 5751 Barton Rd., Pere Marquette Township, had a charge of operating a vehicle without security (no insurance) dismissed on August 16 after he showed valid proof of insurance.

-Jeffrey Scott Smith, 49, of 405 E. Melendy St., Ludington, had a charge of operating a vehicle without security (no insurance) dismissed on August 16 after pleading guilty to a lesser charge.

-David Gerald Smith, 22, of 6588 W. Victory Dr., Hamlin Township, had a charge of operating a vehicle without security (no insurance) dismissed on August 16 after pleading guilty to a lesser charge.

-Jason Bonham Horb, 23, of 409 E. Fourth St., Apt. 2, Ludington, had charges of possession of marijuana  and domestic violence dismissed on August 17.
