79th District Court sentencings

LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

-Jammie Leigh Cluck, 31, of 127 W. Alcott St., Kalamazoo, pleaded guilty June 28 to embezzlement by an agent or trustee less than $200 and was sentenced to five days in jail with credit for five days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must complete an economic crime program; must seek and maintain employment; must obtain a GED; $570 in restitution; and $665 in fines/costs.

-Paul Edward Knizacky, 28, of 710 Prospect Lake Dr., Colorado Springs, Colorado, pleaded guilty June 28 to attempted possession of a firearm in a vehicle and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; one year discretionary jail for one year; must forfeit the firearm and ammunition; and $665 in fines/costs. Charges of felony firearms, carrying a concealed weapon, and driving while license suspended (DWLS) were dismissed.

-Neal Barton Guss, 25, of 604 E. Filer St., Ludington, pleaded guilty July 3 to DWLS and was sentenced to 27 days in jail with credit for 27 days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; 12 months of probation and $285 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS).

-Douglas Macarthur Mann, Jr., 55, of 4679 E. First St., Custer Township, pleaded guilty July 3 to allowing a person to drive in violation of the motor vehicle code and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days already served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; 12 months of probation; and $335 in fines/costs.

-Lavelle Jacquin Jennings, 27, of 6490 Linden Rd., Hamlin Township, pleaded guilty June 28 to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) and DWLS and was sentenced to 39 days in jail with credit for 30 days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; must attend AA two times per week for one year; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; must complete outpatient treatment; and $1,410 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. A charge of having an open intoxicant in a motor vehicle was dismissed.

-Jeffery Jay Marcoux, 58, of 505 Second St., Ludington, pleaded guilty June 29 to disturbing the peace – loud music and was sentenced to 30 days discretionary jail for one year; 12 months of probation and $285 in fines/costs.

-Dacretta Marie Storey, 37, of 1786 Dyson St., Muskegon, pleaded guilty July 3 to driving while license suspended and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; and $225 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

Dismissals

-Christine Anne Day, 25, of 6537 N. Glen Lane, Sheridan Township, had a charge of domestic violence dismissed without prejudice on June 21. According to court documents, “Probable cause existed but the People cannot prove the charge beyond a reasonable doubt.”
