VICTORY TOWNSHIP — Professional basketball players Amanda Stowe and Lavell Blanchard are presenting an all day TeachBal’s Basketball Camp on Monday, June 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at West Shore Community College.

Stowe is a 1997 graduate of Ludington High School and played for University of Michigan and University Wisconsin Green Bay before playing pro in Portugal, Austria, Italy, Sweden, Puerto Rico and Luxembourg. She is now an elementary school teacher in Ann Arbor. Blanchard has played professional basketball in several leagues in Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ukraine. He was a four-time All-Big Ten Conference player and 2000 Big Ten Freshman of the Year for the Michigan Wolverines men’s basketball team. He is known for having been the fifth player to ever lead a National Collegiate Athletic Association team in both scoring and rebounding four times.

TeachBal’s day camp will emphasize the fundamentals of shooting, dribbling, passing, catching, offensive moves and defensive techniques. Campers will take a short break for lunch and then continue with instructional games in the afternoon.

Stowe and Blanchard say they look forward to sharing their years of professional basketball experience, while also continuing to encourage athletes to cherish the hardwood.

The cost of the camp is $60 per athlete or $80 per family.  For those who register prior to June 1 the camp cost is $50 per athlete or $75 per family.
