Local prom dress distribution to be held. 

LUDINGTON — A prom dress distribution event will be held on Monday, April 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 501 E. Danaher St. Multiple dresses in various sizes, styles, lengths, and colors will be available for free to local girls who want to attend their junior/senior prom.

Last year, many donated dresses had been stored at what would be the future home of the Lakeshore Resource Network on Tinkham Avenue. The building was destroyed by fire, as were the dresses.

Miss Ludington Area Shelby Soberalski 2016 worked with the Lakeshore Resource Network to pool community efforts to replace the destroyed dresses. As a result, 150 dresses, shoes, and purses will be given to area high school girls.
