AFFEW plans Earth Day celebration.

LUDINGTON — A Few Friends for the Environment of the World (AFFEW) is planning an Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 22 at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts, 107 S. Harrison St.

The event schedule is as follows:

  • Morning meditation, Qigong, indigenous pipe ceremony: 9 to 11 a.m.
  • Workshops, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Health lifestyles, soil balancing, Scottville Beekeepers, mushroom growing, monarch garden, birds of Mason County, native planting, water protection.

Speakers:

  • Mark Luttenton, The Future of Water, noon to 1 p.m.
  • Ric Evans, Solar Energy and Energy Efficiency, 2 to 3 p.m.
  • Kenny Pheasant, Water and Life, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Retail and educational booths: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Kids activities: 1 to 3 p.m.

Raffle drawings and a silent auction will be held at 4:45 p.m. Snacks and beverages will be available all day.
