Hospital encouraging patients, visitors to use Ludington Ave. entrance during Lawndale construction.

March 31, 2017

LUDINGTON — Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital is advising patients and visitors of the hospital to use the Ludington Avenue entrance during construction of Lawndale Street beginning March 31. Construction is expected to be completed sometime in June.

Traffic disruption is inevitable with such an extensive project, and Lawndale St. will be closed to through traffic. However, the city and its contractors are ensuring that at least unpaved access will be possible to the Spectrum Health internal medicine and family practice office at 922 Lawndale, and other vital facilities on the street.

The parking lots and hospital surgery entrance adjacent to Lawndale will be accessible throughout the project from the Ludington Ave. entrance. The construction team will keep the north entrance to the hospital, at Sherman St., open as long as possible, but at some point construction there will be essential. Hospital access will be more reliable from Ludington Ave. than from Lawndale.
