Betty Thurow Mavis Cheney, of Ludington, walked into the light of grace, eternal life in Heaven, Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the age of 87. Betty was born January 12, 1930 in Riverton Township, to William and Muriel Throw.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Evelyn, two brothers, Emery and Edward, along with Russell Mavis, husband of 54 years, and Carl Cheney, husband of six years.
Betty is survived by her son, Terry (Debra) Mavis; daughters: Bonnie (Jerry) Schulze and Victoria Mavis; six grand children, 19 great grandchildren; her brother, Richard Thurow; sister Darlene Viglietti; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty’s life was an example of the Christian faith she had in Jesus as her Savior.
A Memorial Service will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Scottville on Thursday February 23 at 11 a.m. Visitation with the family will precede the service starting at 10 a.m.
Memorials may be given to Our Savior Lutheran Church or Lutheran Hour Ministries.
