PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 20-year-old Ludington woman was injured following a single vehicle crash on Pere Marquette Highway south of Iris Road Tuesday afternoon. The crash occurred when the southbound Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck apparently lost control, went into a ditch, striking a mailbox, and then spun around stopping back on the shoulder of the road. Roads became slick after a heavy snow started falling shortly after 1:30 p.m. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Initial dispatch information stated the vehicle rolled over, but law enforcement on scene confirmed that was not the case.

The woman was transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital and was being treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Responding to the scene were Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Pere Marquette Township Fire Department, Ludington Fire Department, and Life EMS ambulance.
