SUMMIT TOWNSHIP — A 41-year-old Hart woman was injured Friday morning about 7 a.m. when the vehicle she was driving lost control on South Pere Marquette Highway, south of Olmstead Road, and struck a utility pole. The woman was traveling north on PM Highway and apparently hit a patch of black ice, according to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office. The pole was sheered at its base and needed to be replaced by personnel from Consumers Energy.

The woman was transported to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital by ambulance where she was being treated for non life-threatening injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.

Emergency crews responding to the scene were the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Riverton Township Fire Department, Ludington Fire Department, and Life EMS ambulance.
