Cops & Doughnuts invites students to show their patriotism.

LUDINGTON — Cops & Doughnuts McDonald’s Preinct, 103 E. Dowland St., is invited youth ages 18 and under to come to the bakery for Pledge with Pride Day, Saturday, Jan. 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. to show their patriotism. Youth who are able to recite the Pledge of Allegiance from memory will receive a small American flag and a free doughnut.

Veterans will be on site to help guide the participants.

“We are a very patriotic company and we like to encourage love of country in young people,” said Greg “Ryno” Rynearson, Cops & Doughnuts president. “ I would love to see whole families come in and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.”

“This is also a great opportunity to meet some real heroes that have made great sacrifices in the service of our country.”  vice president Alan “Bubba” White said, adding that growing up in Clare, all students said the Pledge of Allegiance each morning in their classrooms.  “I wish they all still did,” White said.

All Cops & Doughnuts locations are participating in the event.
