SCOTTVILLE — Here is a warm thought on these cold winter nights: Imagine sitting on a warm summer evening, the stars shining over your head and you are watching a free movie on the Charles Thompson Memorial Green at the Scottville Clown Band Shell. The 2017 free movie season has been announced featuring two of this winter’s hottest movies: “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and the animated hit “Sing,” along with another 2016 animated hit, Disney Pixar’s “Finding Dory.”

All movies will be shown on Tuesday nights, following a free concert on the stage and family fun activities on the green and in the Scottville Optimist Center parking lot.

“Sing” will be shown the evening of June 27, which is also the night of the Scottville Clown Band’s annual Patriotic Concert. “Rogue One” will be shown on Aug. 8, and “Finding Dory” will be shown on Aug. 29, which is also the finale of the 2017 band shell season.

The band shell is owned and operated jointly by the Scottville Optimist Club and the Scottville Clown Band and relies on the generosity of donors. Those wishing to make a donation may send it to Scottville Clown Band Shell, PO Box 278, Scottville, MI 49454.
