Hospital employees donate to Shop with a Cop.

LUDINGTON — The Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital clinical quality department recently presented a donation of $325 to the Shop with a Cop program.

Shop with a Cop is an opportunity for children-in-need to buy some Christmas presents for family members. They are helped by a local law enforcement officer during a night of shopping at Wal-Mart in Pere Marquette Township. This year, the shopping date is Thursday, Dec. 14. The children are referred to the program by their school counselor. In 2015, 53 kids participated in the program.

The program relies on donations from the community.
