LUDINGTON — Over 60 students from the Ludington Business Professionals of America along with their family members and other volunteers made over 816 pies Saturday at Ludington High School. The pies are being sold as a fundraiser for the organization.

This was the third year the BPA made the pies. Students range from grades sixth through twelfth.

The pies were made from scratch with fruit from Mason County Fruit Packers.

“The hands on skills and experience these students received, through this process, is priceless,” said advisor Melanie Tomaski. “The monetary proceeds of this event, assists our members with expenses incurred for becoming a member and for attending leadership conferences to engage in competitive events in business and computer related topics. It’s a win win situation.”
