79th District Court sentencings, dismissals.

LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in 79th District Court:

– Robert Noah Gauthier, 41, of 303 S. Main St., Scottville, pleaded guilty Nov. 9 to attempted assault/resisting/obstructing police and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; one year discretionary jail for one year; $665 in fines and costs; and may perform 44 hours of community service within six months in lieu of fines and costs.

– David Jon Whelpley, 34, of 328 E. Larch Apt. 1, Muskegon, pleaded guilty Nov. 14 to driving while license expired and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must not operate a motor vehicle until legally able to do so; one year probation; and $225 in fines and costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS).

– Shawn Donald Pitre, 32, of 1552 W. 17 Mile Rd., Bitely, pleaded guilty Nov. 14 to driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must not operate a motor vehicle until legally able to do so; one year probation; and $285 in fines and costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

– Jaramie Edward Jones, 40, of 206 Crowley St., Scottville, pleaded guilty Nov. 9 to allowing a person to drive in violation of the motor vehicle code and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must not operate a motor vehicle until legally able to do so; one year probation; and $335 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS was dismissed.

– Ernest William Ryan, 65, of 103 N. Reinberg Ave., Scottville, pleaded guilty Oct. 31 to DWLS and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must not operate a motor vehicle until legally able to do so; one year probation; and $225 in fines and costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. Charges of operating a vehicle without security (no insurance) and operating without a license were dismissed.

Dismissals

– Samuel Raymond Hogan, 49, of 16101 Roaring Brook Dr., Hersey, had a charge of operating while intoxicated (OWI) dismissed as part of a plea agreement in 51st Circuit Court.

– Thomas Tommy Teague Noa, 32, of 109 E. Foster St., Ludington, had a charge of operating a motor vehicle without security (no insurance) dismissed after pleading guilty to a lesser charge.
