The Mason County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to half a dozen car/deer crashes Thursday.

Deer are on the move this time of the year for the rutting season, and crashes are most likely to occur at dawn and dusk.

The following is MCSO activity Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016:

  • 12:30 a.m., car/deer crash, no injuries, Custer and Treml roads, Free Soil Township.
  • 7:30 a.m., car/deer crash, no injuries, Pere Marquette Highway and Iris Road, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 8:10 a.m., car/deer crash, no injuries, Hansen and Schoenherr roads, Branch Township.
  • 12:55 p.m., a 23-year-old Ludington man was arrested for retail fraud at Walmart, 4800 block of West US 10, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 7:47 p.m., car/deer crash, no injuries, Fountain and Stephens roads, Sherman Township.
  • 8 p.m, car/deer crash, no injuries, Darr and Hawley roads, Eden Township.
  • 9:51 p.m., two-vehicle crash, minor injury, US 10 and Benson Road, Branch Township.
  • 11:30 p.m., car/deer crash, no injuries, US 10 and Darr Road, Custer Township.
