LUDINGTON — The Walk to End Alzheimer’s was held Saturday at Waterfront Park. The event raised $37,636, only $364 short of the group’s $38,000 goal. “That has never happened before,” said Karen Haldeman, one of the event’s organizers. “Normally, we are off by a much greater amount.”

The Lakeshore Parrot Heads was the top organization team raising $11,000. Mary Osmolski-Olson was the top individual fundraiser, raising $2,220. All for One was the top “friends and family” team raising $4,555.

“We are looking for committee members for next year,” Haldeman said. “This year we had a core group of four to five people and it is a big event to put on with such little support. If this walk is to continue in Ludington we need people to step up and make a commitment to meeting once a month to help with planning.”
