FRANKFORT — West Shore Bank has completed its acquisition of West Michigan Bank and Trust, based in Frankfort. The process began in April of this year.

“We look forward to welcoming West Michigan Bank & Trust customers and employees to the West Shore Bank family,” said Raymond A. Biggs, president & CEO of West Shore Bank. “This addition brings together two community banks with a long and proud history of serving customers, as well as financial strength.  We will continue to service the west Michigan market with the same personal touch and accessibility we have provided for over 118 years, all while providing a broader range of products and services and increased lending capabilities.  We will ensure our customers have the progressive products, services and technologies that meet the demands of today’s banking environment.”

With this acquisition, West Shore Bank extends its presence to Benzie County, the fifth county in its west Michigan market.  A broader range of products and services, including trust and wealth management services, will augment commercial and retail banking offerings.  An open house is planned to welcome former West Michigan Bank & Trust customers and the communities served on Thursday, August 25 in the Frankfort office and in the Manistee-South office on Wednesday, August 31, each from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
