LUDINGTON — Adam Clayton Shook, the person of interest in the early morning stabbing of a 26-year-old man came into the Ludington Police Department this morning after he found out that law enforcement was searching for him, according to Police Chief Mark Barnett.

“At this point no information will be released regarding the contents of the interview with investigators as the investigation is ongoing,” Barnett said.

Officers from Ludington Police Department and Mason County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 716 E. Danaher Street at 3:59 a.m. on an assault complaint. Upon arrival, officers encountered the victim laying on the kitchen floor. “The victim was believed to have more than one wound as he was bleeding,” said Police Chief Mark Barnett in a press release.

Life EMS and Ludington Fire Department medical first responders responded to the scene and the victim was transported to Spectrum Health Ludington Hosptial for treatment.  The victim is said to be in stable condition at this time, Barnett said.

The initial investigation indicated that the victim had been involved in a disagreement with another subject, who was not at the location when the officers arrived on scene.

“The victim and the person of interest are known to each other and the assault appears to have resulted from a verbal disagreement,” Barnett said.
