LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in 79th District Court:

– Jesse Allan Goodrich, 33, 1414 N. Lakeshore Dr., Hamlin Township, pleaded guilty on July 26 to attempted assaulting/resisting/obstructing and assault and battery. He was sentenced to 45 days in jail, one year discretionary jail for two years on count two, 93 days discretionary jail for two years on count three, no drugs/alcohol, subject to random PBTs, must follow requirements of substance abuse program, and pay $985 in fines and costs. A charge of interfering with electronic communications was dismissed on the motion of the prosecutor with prejudice.

– Kendall Ray Thompson, 29, 304 James St., Scottville, pleaded guilty on July 26 to attempted assaulting/resisting/obstructing and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day already served, one year discretionary jail for two years, must have substance abuse evaluation, must obtain Soberlink, must attend AA/NA two times per week for two years, subject to random PBTs, subject to random drug tests, no drugs/alcohol, and must pay $775 in fines and costs.

– Benito Gutierrez-Darios, 46, 304 S. Madison St., Ludington, pleaded guilty on July 28 to driving with an expired driver’s license and was sentenced to pay a fine of $225. Conviction is reportable to the Secretary of State.

– Ashley Lynn Nehm, 19, 6728 Bryant Rd., Pere Marquette Township, pleaded guilty on July 28 to disorderly trespassing/illegal entry and was sentenced to pay a fine of $285.

– Carrie Noel Stebleton, 23, 309 E. State St., Scottville, pleaded guilty on July 28 to selling tobacco to a minor and was sentenced to pay a fine of $260.

– Cynthia Louise Schlenker, 63, 272 Lighthouse Circle, Manistee, pleaded guilty on July 28 to selling tobacco to a minor and was sentenced to pay a fine of $260.

– Jamal Drashan Hooper, 29, 917 Ada, Muskegon, pleaded guilty on July 27 to driving while license suspended/revoked/denied and was sentenced to 20 days in jail with credit for 20 days already served, 12 months of probation, 93 days of discretionary jail for one year, no drugs/alcohol, and $135 in fines and costs. Conviction is reportable to the Secretary of State.

– Lance Quinton Centers, 36, 2600 N. Jebavy Dr., Hamlin Township, pleaded guilty on July 28 to letting a dog run loose and was sentenced to pay a fine of $160.

– Mark Allen Best, 43, 6710 Ann St., Pere Marquette Township, pleaded guilty on July 25 to operating while impaired by liquor and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day already served, 93 days discretionary jail for one year, must attend victim impact panel, no drugs/alcohol, subject to random PBTs, must complete outpatient substance abuse counseling, and must pay $645 in fines and costs. Conviction is reportable to the Secretary of State.

Dismissal
– Paul Kuiper, 77, no address listed, had charges of assault by strangulation and domestic violence dismissed without prejudice on August 2. According to court records, “The defendant and victim are living separately. Defendant is living with other family members. The ends of justice no longer require prosecution.”
