PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — SafetyDecals.com, a division of Tye’s Incorporated, recently purchased a new printing system which significantly increases the graphic company’s production efficiency. The company purchased a 6-color Hewlett Packard FB750 UV inkjet flatbed printer and the Zund Flatbed Cutting System.

“This system takes printing to a new level,” said owner/CEO Nick Tykoski. “The flatbed printer reduces turnaround times and also brings a printed product that is higher quality than we, or anyone else in this area, has offered before.”

The system is housed in an environmentally conditioned room in the company’s West First Street facility.

SafetyDecals.com is a global supplier of signage, decals, banners and prints. The new printer allows improved printing on large run or short run decals and banners, flatbed printing, campaign yard signs, glass printing, operation manuals laminating, laser etching, garment printing, packaging, photography, screen printing and various sized signs.

“Our third generation company already has a reputation for the fine work we offer and we believe the investment in this equipment will allow us to expand our services and product line,” Tykoski said.

Tye’s Inc. began in 1948 when Marion “Tye” Tykoski started Tye’s Neon Sales and Service in Manistee. His son, Dave, joined the business and partnered with Marion. The business expanded into the decal business in 1984 when the company purchased one of the first sign computers available, an Apple IIe. The business then created a new entity, Tye’s Signs Inc. In 1987, at the age of 5, Nick started to learn the sign business, traveling with his father and grandfather across the state to work on various projects. In 2009 Tye’s Inc. became a global manufacturer when it acquired SafetyDecals.com.
