VICTORY TOWNSHIP — A 57-year-old Scottville woman received minor injuries after the vehicle she was driving was struck by another car at the intersection of East Dewey and North Amber roads. The woman was driving a Chevrolet Equinox east on Dewey Road when a southbound Mercury Grand Marquis, driven by a 17-year-old Branch Township man, apparently failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection.

The driver of the Chevrolet was treated by EMTs on the scene but was not transported to the hospital. The driver of the Oldsmobile and his three 17-year-old male passengers were uninjured. Two of the passengers were from Victory Township and another was from Branch Township. Deputies from Mason County Sheriff’s Office issued a field sobriety test to the Oldsmobile driver on the scene but the result was negative.

Dep. Matt Moss said he was issuing a citation for disregarding a stop sign.

Responding to the scene were Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Scottville Fire Department, Custer Fire Department and Life EMS.
